The conference is organized by IFP, in partnership with the Order of Engineers and Architects of Beirut and the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC), the Lebanese Solar Energy Society (LSES) with the support of the Lebanon Green Building Council (LGBC).

“In December 2011, the Ministry of Energy and Water launched the “Net Metering” which allows the export of the electricity produced through renewable energy system to the grid. When the solar system produces more electricity than it requires, the excess can be sold back to the utility through a process called net metering. Therefore it is possible for a home or business using a grid connected solar system to actually sell more electricity back to the utility than it uses. The usage of these systems is getting popular in Lebanon. We noticed this fact during the show. We are satisfied with the visitor turnout of this premiere show.” Sami Madi, General Manager of Panoramic Solar

Last year’s conference opened its forum to 200 attendees, grouping together renowned representatives from the government and NGOs, engineers and students, as well as key people from the private sector and the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP), to share expertise, ideas and lucrative opportunities in the green sector.

In its upcoming 6th edition, Lebanon Sustainability Week 2015 is running alongside EcOrient 2015, Energy Lebanon 2015 and Project Lebanon 2015, entailing a two-day conference on June 4 and 5, 2014, in which several high profile international and local speakers will address critical regional energy and environmental issues, providing green solutions for a better and more sustainable future, specifically in the Levant and GCC regions.
